Potato puffs

This kid friendly recipe can be a great party snack and also goes really well with evening tea.

Ingredients

  • 250 gm potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon chopped ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt- to taste

Instructions

  • Boil the potatoes. Cool and then peel and mash them.
  • Heat oil in a pan and crackle cumin seeds. Add the mashed potatoes, ginger, garam masala, chili powder, coriander and salt.
  • Mix all the ingredients thoroughly.
  • Cut each puff pastry into 8 rectangular portions
  • Put a tablespoon of the potato mixture in the center of puff pastry rectangles and roll.
  • Bake the puffs in oven at 160 degree centigrade for about 20 minutes or till the top is crisp and flaky.
  • Check the puffs midway, depending on your oven, you might have to turn them.
