Here is an extremely simple dessert recipe for this festive season.

Total time: 25 minutes

Makes approximately 40 chocolate coconut balls

  1. Condensed milk-   400 grams
  2. Dark chocolate-   100 grams
  3. Desiccated coconut-   2 cups, unsweetened

First we will make the basic coconut ladoos/ balls

  1. Take a pan and combine condensed milk and desiccated coconut.
  2. Mix both of these and cook for about 2-3 minutes on low heat.
  3. You need to warm the mixture properly and then cool it enough to touch and shape into small balls.

Although the above basic coconut ladoos are yummy on their own but a coat of chocolate will enhance the look and taste if you and your family love chocolate.

  1. Take a bowl and grate the dark chocolate.
  2. Take another bowl and heat water in it, once the water starts boiling place the chocolate bowl on top (double boiling method).
  3. Take off the bowl from heat once the chocolate is completely melted.
  4. One by one put the coconut balls in chocolate and coat evenly with chocolate, then place the ball on top of aluminum foil.
  5. You can now roll the chocolate covered balls in desiccated coconut or sprinkle some desiccated coconut over it, while the chocolate is still slightly warm.
  6. Place the balls in the fridge for about 15 min to set.
  7. Now the chocolate coconut balls are ready to serve. You can also place each individual ball on a cupcake liner to serve.
